Our story

Robert Ortali

During my time as the acting president of the Unionville Milliken Soccer Club, I recognized the pressing need for indoor spaces for families to enjoy sports, particularly during the winter months. Witnessing this firsthand, I was determined to bridge the gap between community needs and available resources.

Navigating through financing complexities, turf durability concerns, and misconceptions about dome usage for field sports, we successfully developed one of Toronto's first soccer domes. Despite skepticism from financial institutions, I pressed forward, driven by grassroots insights and a deep understanding of market demand.

Today, my dedication remains rooted in the transformative power of accessible sports spaces and I am proud to have played a role in supporting the evolving needs of athletes and enthusiasts alike for the past 20 years.

David Gisborne

I have over 15 years of experience building and managing sports programs across Ontario and more recently in the Southern U.S.

Before becoming a sports entrepreneur, I was a partner at InvestEco Capital Corp and an investor with Export Development Canada, both of which focused on providing growth capital to fast-growing small and medium-sized businesses.

In 2024, I became a partner in Field Recreation Inc., joining forces with Robert to pursue our shared vision of creating a leading sports and recreation business.

As a Partner of Field Recreation Inc (FR), I bring extensive experience from founding and successfully exiting an elite private soccer academy, where I developed innovative sports management strategies and delivered exceptional results in a competitive market.

Before transitioning into entrepreneurship, I represented some of the world’s most prestigious soccer organizations, gaining invaluable insights into excellence, discipline, and teamwork that continue to guide my work.

I have refined my skills as an operator, excelling in building, training, and managing high-performing teams while fostering talent and creating structures for sustained success.
